No, you can start without a physician referral. California allows direct access to physical therapy for up to 12 visits or 45 calendar days, whichever comes first.
To continue beyond that point, a physician—or a podiatrist acting within their scope—must examine you in person or by telehealth, then sign and date your physical therapist’s plan of care to approve continued treatment. A medical evaluation may be needed sooner based on your symptoms or progress.
Select New clients to complete the initial consultation form and tell us about your needs, goals, and preferences. After your form is reviewed and approved, we’ll email you a link to set up your private medical portal in Jane. You can then sign in and schedule your first appointment.
Our care focuses on women, including support for new or ongoing pain, sports and recreational injuries, and pelvic and obstetric health. This includes pregnancy and recovery after birth. Tell us what brings you in on the consultation form so we can review whether our care is a good fit.
